Our AML and Verification Commitment
Verification protects your account, your winnings and the integrity of our platform. This page sets out exactly what we check, when we check it and what we ask of you, with no fine-print surprises.
Our Anti-Money Laundering Policy
We operate under licence 8048/JAZ2023-056 issued by the Curaçao Gaming Control Board, and we hold ourselves to the anti-money-laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist-financing obligations of that jurisdiction. Every policy on this page flows from that licence: we cannot accept funds whose origin we cannot reasonably establish, and we will not process transactions that raise unresolved concerns.
Practically, this means we run a risk-based program covering customer due diligence, transaction monitoring, reporting of suspicious activity and record keeping. Crownplay Casino treats these obligations as non-negotiable, not as a box-ticking exercise, because a clean platform is what keeps your withdrawals fast and your account secure.
- Risk-based customer due diligence at onboarding and at defined review points
- Continuous monitoring of deposits and withdrawals against your profile
- Suspicious activity escalated to our compliance team and, where legally required, to the relevant authority
- Staff training so front-line teams recognise red flags and escalate correctly
When We Verify Your Identity
Verification triggers
We verify your identity at three points: when you register, when you request your first withdrawal, and whenever cumulative activity crosses thresholds set in our internal risk policy. Registration checks confirm your name, date of birth, residential address and contact details against our restricted-country list. The first withdrawal is the hard gate, because that is when money leaves our platform and lands in your name.
Additional checks can be triggered by thresholds or patterns, for example a sudden change in deposit size or frequency, use of a new payment method, or activity inconsistent with your established profile. These checks are routine and, in the majority of cases, are cleared the moment you supply the requested documents.
- At registration: personal details, age (18+), jurisdiction eligibility
- Before first withdrawal: full identity verification
- At internal thresholds or risk triggers: enhanced due diligence
Documents we require
Identity verification requires three document types. We accept clear photos or scans, and documents must be current, legible and show all four corners.
- Photo ID: passport, national ID card or driver licence
- Proof of address: utility bill, bank statement or tenancy agreement issued within the last 3 months
- Proof of payment method ownership: card photo (showing the first six and last four digits only), bank statement showing your account, or a crypto wallet screenshot with your account name visible
How Verification Works, Step by Step
The process is deliberately simple, because most delays come from unclear images, not from our review queue. Follow these steps and your check will usually be done within the processing times listed below.
Your documents are protected throughout: uploads travel over encrypted connections, are stored in access-controlled systems, and are visible only to compliance staff who need them for verification. We never share them with third parties except where law or our regulator requires it.
- 1. Open the Verification section of your account profile
- 2. Upload a photo ID, taking care that all details are legible and nothing is cropped
- 3. Upload a proof of address dated within the last 3 months
- 4. Upload proof of ownership for each withdrawal method you intend to use
- 5. Our compliance team reviews the files and updates your status, usually within 24 hours
- 6. If anything is missing or unclear, we contact you directly with specifics, never with a vague rejection
| Check type | Typical processing time |
|---|---|
| Standard identity check | Up to 24 hours |
| Proof of address | Up to 24 hours |
| Payment method ownership | 24 to 48 hours |
| Enhanced due diligence | 3 to 5 business days |
Why We May Ask for Source of Funds
Source of funds evidence shows where the money you deposited actually came from. We ask for it when deposit volumes or patterns sit outside what your profile would suggest, for example large single deposits, a rapid run-up in cumulative deposits, or deposits from a payment method newly linked to your account.
Acceptable evidence is straightforward: payslips, employment contracts, tax returns, bank statements showing salary credits, sale contracts for property or shares, or inheritance documentation. A screenshot of your own bank account showing the outgoing transfers usually satisfies the first level of review. We ask only for what the trigger requires, and we keep the request proportionate.
This step protects you as much as us. It confirms your play is funded from your own legitimate income, and it stops your account being used as a laundering channel by someone else.
How We Monitor Deposits and Withdrawals
Every deposit and withdrawal is screened against your verified profile. Withdrawals go back to the same method used to fund the account wherever the payment channel supports it; where a method cannot receive funds, we return them to a verified method in your name, never to a third party. This same-method rule is a core AML control, and we do not make exceptions to it.
Withdrawal limits apply per our standard terms: a minimum withdrawal of A$30, and maximums of A$5,000 per day and A$10,000 per week. Crypto withdrawals are processed within 0 to 24 hours, fiat withdrawals within 1 to 3 business days. We charge no fees on either side, and we do not accelerate limits in exchange for skipping checks.
- Minimum withdrawal: A$30
- Daily withdrawal cap: A$5,000
- Weekly withdrawal cap: A$10,000
- Crypto payouts: 0 to 24 hours; fiat payouts: 1 to 3 business days
- Withdrawals returned to the verified deposit method in your own name
If Verification Fails or Stalls
We do not confiscate balances over paperwork, but we do restrict accounts when verification is not completed. Until identity checks pass, withdrawals stay on hold and pending wagers can be voided and returned. You keep access to your funds the moment the outstanding documents are cleared.
If documents are refused, or if evidence suggests the account was opened in someone else's name, we suspend the account and escalate it for review. Confirmed cases of identity misuse, third-party funding or deliberate document fraud lead to permanent closure and forfeiture of funds, and may be reported to the authorities in our licence jurisdiction. You can appeal any decision through [email protected], and our compliance team responds to appeals in writing.
Restricted or suspended accounts remain excluded from promotional credit, and any bonus linked to the account is voided at suspension.
- Verification overdue: withdrawals held, account otherwise functional
- Documents rejected: we specify what failed and how to fix it
- Suspected fraud or third-party use: account suspended for review
- Confirmed fraud: closure, forfeiture and possible regulatory reporting
How Long We Keep Your Records
We retain verification documents and transaction records for the period required under our Curaçao licence, and in any case for at least five years after your account closes. Retention is a legal obligation: regulators must be able to reconstruct the full picture of a customer's activity years after the fact, and records are the only way that is possible.
When the retention period ends, documents are securely destroyed. You can request a copy of the personal data we hold at any time, and you can ask us to correct anything that is out of date, for example a new address after a move, by sending updated documents through your account profile.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to verify before I can deposit?
No. You can register, deposit and play on basic details, but full identity verification is required before your first withdrawal, and can be triggered earlier by our risk rules.
Why was my document rejected?
The usual reasons are blur, cropped edges, expired documents, or a proof of address older than 3 months. We tell you the specific reason and you can re-upload straight away.
Can I withdraw to a different method than I deposited with?
Only where the deposit method cannot receive funds, and only to a payment method verified as being in your own name. We never pay withdrawals to third parties.
What if I refuse to provide source of funds evidence?
Withdrawals stay on hold until the request is satisfied or withdrawn after the activity is resolved. Refusing an enhanced due diligence request is itself a reportable risk indicator.
