Responsible Gaming at Crownplay

Gambling should stay a form of entertainment you control, not a habit that controls you. On this page we set out every protection we have built into your Crownplay Casino account and where to find free, confidential help anywhere in Australia.

Our Commitment to Your Wellbeing

Since we launched in 2023, player wellbeing has sat at the centre of how we run Crownplay Casino. We do not want your money when gambling stops being fun for you, and we have built our platform to act on that principle rather than just state it.

Our systems run behaviour monitoring in the background. When play patterns change sharply, for example a sudden jump in deposit frequency, longer overnight sessions or repeated top-ups after losses, our trained team reviews the account and can reach out with a private check-in message and suggestions for limits. Reality checks appear on screen at intervals you choose, showing session length, net result for the day and a one-tap shortcut to your account limits.

Warning Signs to Watch For

Problem gambling rarely announces itself. It builds through small, easy-to-rationalise steps, which is why we list the signs below without judgement. If even one of these sounds like your last few weeks, that is enough reason to tighten your limits or talk to someone.

  • Chasing losses: returning the same day, often with larger bets, to win back money you lost.
  • Hiding your play: closing browser tabs, clearing history, or downplaying time and spend to family and friends.
  • Borrowing to gamble: using credit cards, payday loans, money borrowed from mates, or funds earmarked for bills and rent.
  • Mood changes around gambling: irritability or restlessness when you cannot play, or a flat feeling after a session ends.
  • Escalating stakes: needing bigger bets to feel the same level of excitement you got from smaller ones.
  • Neglecting responsibilities: sleep, work, study or relationships slipping because sessions run longer than planned.
  • Believing you are due a win: treating random outcomes as a pattern that must eventually pay you back.
  • Failed attempts to cut back: trying to stop or slow down several times and not managing it on your own.

How Self Exclusion Works

Durations we support

Self-exclusion is the strongest control we offer, and we keep it deliberately simple. You choose the length, we enforce it, and no promotional material will reach you during the term.

DurationNotes
24 hoursSame as a cooling-off day; account reopens automatically at the end.
7 daysBlocks login, deposits and all bonus mail for one week.
30 daysStandard short-term break; automatic reactivation after the month.
6 monthsLong-term break; requires a written reactivation request.
PermanentAccount closed for good; any remaining balance is paid out on request.

Your balance and open bets

When self-exclusion starts, your playable balance is frozen, not forfeited. Bets already placed on live tables or pending rounds settle normally, and any winnings from them return to your frozen balance. You can request a withdrawal of the full remaining balance at any time during the exclusion; verification follows our standard KYC steps and funds go out through the method you used to deposit, or bank transfer for crypto accounts. We do not charge fees on closing payouts.

Reactivation

For 24-hour, 7-day and 30-day terms, the account reopens automatically and no action is needed from you. After a 6-month exclusion, you email [email protected] from your registered address with a reactivation request; our responsible gaming team reviews it and processes it within 72 hours, including a short optional check-in about the limits you want in place going forward. Permanent exclusions cannot be reversed. During any term, you can extend the exclusion at any time from the Responsible Gaming menu, and extensions take effect immediately.

Keeping Gambling Away From Minors

You must be 18 or over to hold an account with us, full stop. We verify age at registration and again before your first withdrawal, and we close any account found to belong to a person under 18, paying out any deposited funds to the source they came from but voiding all play and winnings.

Gambling is an adults-only activity, and we ask every player to treat it that way at home too. Never share your login, and log out of sessions on shared or family devices.

  • Keep your Crownplay credentials private and enable device-level screen locks.
  • Install parental control software such as Qustodio, Net Nanny or the free tools built into Windows Family Safety and Apple Screen Time to block gambling sites on family devices.
  • Never let minors watch or take part in your play sessions, even casually.
  • If someone under 18 has accessed your account, tell us immediately at [email protected] so we can secure it and refund the deposits.

Free Help Across Australia

Our tools manage your account; these services support you as a person, and every one of them is free, confidential and available to any Australian resident, regardless of whether you play with us. Reaching out is a practical step, not a confession, and you can stay anonymous on every line below.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a deposit limit take to apply?

A new lower limit applies immediately. Raising or removing a limit has a 24-hour cooling period so you cannot change it on impulse during a session.

Can I reverse a self-exclusion once it starts?

No. During 24-hour, 7-day and 30-day terms the block stays in place until the term ends automatically. A 6-month exclusion needs a written reactivation request, and permanent exclusions cannot be reversed.

Will I lose the money in my account if I self-exclude?

No. Your balance is frozen, not forfeited, and you can request a withdrawal of the full amount at any time during the exclusion period.

Do I have to identify myself to call Gambling Help Online?

No. The 1800 858 858 line and the webchat at gamblinghelponline.org.au are anonymous, free and available 24/7 across Australia.

Can someone under 18 open an account?

No. Our minimum age is 18, verified at registration and again at KYC before the first withdrawal. Accounts found to belong to a minor are closed and winnings voided.
